– Kemono/venus appliers by Kurombo Chan –

Kurombo has made specular/normal map appliers for the kemono body and venus head, these are more optimized and doesnt require a specific version of the head/body to work (i think)

– Updates –

Get your update cards out for these hot new updates for all the m3 heads and avatar2.0

M3 Anime head v1.12.21:
-Head was restructured for better blinking code optimization, this fix should end the double eyelash thing once and for all, i hope…
-Added diagonal eye rolls in the roll menu.(finally!)
-Removed downwards eye angles from eye movement to fix the “I’ve seen some shit” look on your avatar’s face. (downwards angles can still be selected from the roll menu)
-Code optimizations regarding link tracking and other stuff.

M3 Venus Head v1.12.51:
-Fixed a bug with the tongue out + voice chat mouth animations causing the left eye to go blank.
-Removed downwards eye angles from eye movement.
-Code optimizations.

M3 Kemono Head v1.13.30:
-Optimized blinking, this hopefully fix any blinking bugs.
-Fixed broken voice chat animation.
-Removed downwards eye angles from eye movement.
-Code optimization.

Avatar 2.0 v1.12.27:
-Fixed a bug with custom textures not applying to eyelashes.
-Fixed the no copy issue with the main box.
-Added the missing voice chat animation gestures.
-Code optimizations.

Theres also something updated with the kemono body itself, i think the link tracking thing but im not sure cuz i forgot D:

The downwards angles explained

In reality, when the human eye is looking down, the eyelid moves down too, covering the white part above the iris. On SL however, this doesn’t happen, leaving your avatar with this really uncanny “I’ve seen some shit” look on your avatar’s face. So we removed the ability for the eye to look down during eye movement. But all the downwards angles can still be set through the eye roll menu in the options so no changes there.

– Rikugou customization contest 2! –

As the work on the armors is closing a finish, it’s probably a good idea to give you guys a heads up, theres gonna be another Rikugou customization contest at launch of the 2 new armors, so you guys would have plenty of time to prepare for it. So get your Phtochop or MS Paint ready cuz you might be the lucky winner of one (or both) of the new armors !

More details about the contest will come soon.

– Venus head and kemono body material appliers –

i have cooked up some more appliers. this time it’s a specular map applier for the venus head and a normal + specular map applier for the kemono body, [M3+] – Venus Anime Head (v.1.12.17) and Kemono – Body (v.1.13.25)

The M3 venus specular map applier

The kemono body normal and specular map applier

if you want to use these applier with older versions of venus/kemono or anything else, check this thread for instructions on how to modify the scripts to work with whatever you wanna apply materials onto.  – M3 specular map applier-

– A nice start –

This is so great, when i was doing the skins for the new Venus head, i wondered if people will mod of this head like they did with the normal M3 and can this head be turned into something great. And as soon as it got released, modders pounced on it, there were day 1 mods created within 2 hours of its release.

mods

Nothing makes me more happy than to see peoples creativity and what they can turn my products into, i love the modding community and all the amazing things they do on sl.

– stuff –

Due to the overwhelming success of the kawaii head drill, lots of positive feedback and demand for more, from now on, im going to focus all my efforts on making more contraptions in this style, you wanted it, you got it!

oh and heres some progress on the new anime head.

– WIP M3 mature head –

Okay so heres some more progress on the new M3 head. Im done with all the modeling and almost done texturing.

head4

Since this head will be more realistic and just different in general than the other 2 M3 heads, not everything made for the other 2 M3 heads will work. Originally i tried to make the eyelashes and eyebrows compatible with eyelash and eyebrow textures made for the other 2 heads, but by doing so, the result was rather ugly, and on top of that, half of the eyelashes made for the other M3 heads would look distorted and weird, so fuck it.

Things that will work are the eye textures, tears and blush textures. All the UVs and texture layouts will be done in pretty much the same way as the other 2 heads, with the exception of the eyebrows, the eyebrows on this head will move like on a real human head, instead of the traditional 3 different drawn positions. Also this head will use the same paint bucket appliers, so from now on, content creators will need to specify witch head their mods are made for, to avoid confusion.

head2

All that remains now is to make all the face expressions and the rest of the skin tones.

BTW to make things clear, when i say other 2 M3 heads, i mean the original M3 anime head and the M3 kemono head.

– More updates –

Rez/wear your update cards, if nothing happens, go to some other sim or AMH.

Kemono:
Fixed mouth animation AGAIN.
Fixed the bug with crotch not hiding with PG mode on.
Fixed a bug with pelvis part hiding.
Improved the HUD attachment system, should work good now with every monitor resolution.
Script optimizations and clothing attachment system overhaul.

Avatar 2.0:
Improved the HUD attachment system, should work good now with every monitor resolution.
Script optimizations and clothing attachment system overhaul.

M3:
Fixed mouth animation AGAIN.
Fixed the ear bug again.
Fixed the catface emote.
Improved the HUD attachment system, should work good now with every monitor resolution.

Appliers:
Added the ability to test the appliers without the need ot transferring them to an alt.

A note on the clothing attachment system:

The changes to the system makes it hides parts faster and doesnt glitch and leave unhidden parts when the sim lags. If you are a third party clothing creator for Avatar 2.0 or Kemono, you dont have to worry because your clothes will still work with the new system, but you should still look into it and update your clothing items to take advantage of the new changes.

Btw, im not sure how thoroughly the Kemono and the M3 heads were tested so if you encounter any bugs, dont hesitate to IM me.

– M3 1.12.8 update –

The big M3 update is out, rez your update cards

HUD:
Changes to appliers and texture load system, appliers will now bypass the HUD and load textures directly(a retro loader has been included to load old M3 applier textures onto the new head), the custom button above the preview now clears added custom textures.
Changes to the presets window, the presets window is now a separate HUD that saves/loads face expressions.
Added a hide option to the HUD.
Replaced one eye texture with a new one.
Added extra eye customization options and a v1 viewer compatibility mode.
Bug fixes and general optimization to the HUD, the HUD can now be attached anywhere you want without breaking it, the HUD should now display correctly on low end machines with low graphics settings.

head:
The whites of the eyes and insides of the mouth were separated to not be effected by skin color tinting.
Fixed a long standing and overlooked issue with the face light losing its original settings and resetting to default default LL light settings.
Bug fixes and general optimization to the head, the head has been restructured and now uses less polygons to do the same thing, the ugly seam on top of the head has been eliminated thanks to this.

Misc:
Optimizations to the scripts to consume less resources.
Improved the LL head alpha to hide the entire head and not just the face, for people having problems with rigged mesh hair and LL avatar body (why are you still using the LL body anyway?)
External script command support has been added.

New features:
Ability to control each eye lid separately (closing one eye and stuff like that)
Different color tones for each eye texture.
Backwards compatibility with shitty old viewers like singularity.
Menu repositioning based on HUD attachment point.
Ability to hide the HUD.
New and improved applier system that applies the textures directly to the head.
External face expression control script commands.

The M3 texture applier has been updated too.

Next big update is going to be the kemono.

– Whats next? –

Okay so before i begin, i want to let everyone know that we have found and fixed a few more bugs so you all will need to update your kemonos if you bought them in a date before this blog post was made.

The fixes are:

A bug with the hair loading wrong texture for white primary color and not loading anything for black secondary color.
A bug with the boots, making them clip with the bonus stockings and kneesocks. And a bug with the head that made the eye lashes break permanently and made them impossible to fix

how to use the update card

Rez the card on the ground or wear it, be patient.
If nothing happens within 10 minutes, detach or take it back and wait a day and try again
If you think you only got a notecard, check your notice center, maybe the second update accept dialog got lost, if not than, detach or take it back and wait a day and try again.
if you try to repeatedly rez/wear the card, you will spam the update server with update requests and it will block you for 24 hours.

– Whats next? –

Okay so, now that this is done, i bet you all have a bunch of questions regarding what will i do next and when is this and that going to come.

So next on my To do list a big Avatar 2.0 and M3 overhaul, a bunch of new texture appliers for the M3, Kemono and Avatar 2.0, Adding boob size options to the remaining Avatar 2.0 clothing, adapting more Avatar 2.0 clothing for the Kemono body and probably a dummy.blend for Kemono.

Heres a list of changes that are going to be made to the Avatar 2.0 and the M3 heads in the upcoming update.

Changes to the M3 system:

Ability to control each eyelid separately, you will now be able to close one eye, or close one eye more than the other.
Originally the M3 head was supposed to have eye texture layer color control in addition to the base layer color control, but due to technical difficulties, we had to remove that feature from the final release. While working on the kemono, we have found a workaround for that technical difficulty that allowed us to somewhat bring back the lost functionality, you will be able to select from 5 different eye texture colors.
We have will also added a v1 viewer compatibility mode for those of you who have old computers and are forced to use v1 viewers.
And finally, the head will now listen to user made scripted object commands to change the expressions and stuff like that.
The M3 hud will now has a Hide button that hides it offscreen.
The M3 hud will now Auto detects witch side of the screen you have attached it to and realign its options menu to that side of the screen to prevent the click block mesh bug from happening. It also can no be attached wherever you want it to be attached without screwing it up like before.
The presets window will now be a separate HUD in itself, it has lost all of its nonsensical functions and now focuses on saving your full facial expressions instead.

Changes to the Avatar 2.0:

The Avatar 2.0 will support asymmetrical textures and texture appliers.
The new way i came up with for joining objects will free the 8th material that was previously used to eliminate the join seams, so each object will get one additional hide option. The avatar will now have hand position’s, it will also have boob sizes built into it that you can select from the HUD.
The HUD will now have an options menu like the kemono HUD where you can select the skin texture and other stuff.

– M3 Texture Applier –

And here it is, finally got around packing it and releasing it.

This is the M3 anime head texture applier for M3 texture mod developers. This will allow you to sell your texture mods without having to give out your textures or UIIDs full perm, it will also save a lot of trouble for people that will use those mods. (this will not work with the M3 Prototype head that comes with Rikugou.)

And here’s the very first mod that uses the M3 texture applier by Anahi Suisei (.::U & A::.)

Also, i keep forgetting to mention this, but there’s a test update for the M3 head if anyone’s interested, if it works than it should load the eye base layer faster (a fix for the temporary-solid eye thing)
