– WIP kemono bento implementation –

So yeah bento is now part of the official firestorm release and the bento development tools are nearing completion so i started poking at it myself and heres what i got so far.

My goal is to make full use of the bento bones for avatar 2.0 and kemono to drastically cut down on the rendering weight, first im going to make use of the finger and tail bones so that we wouldnt need to use 89475984 invisible tails and hands, one will be enough! and than will see what i can do with the avatar 2.0 face. I might also re release bento versions of the M3 heads since those have a 9384658347598 polygons too that also eat up a lot of the render complexity thing but im not sure how well those rigged heads will align with different avatars since you wont be able to move them around anymore.

M3 Anime head v1.12.21:
-Head was restructured for better blinking code optimization, this fix should end the double eyelash thing once and for all, i hope…
-Added diagonal eye rolls in the roll menu.(finally!)
-Removed downwards eye angles from eye movement to fix the “I’ve seen some shit” look on your avatar’s face. (downwards angles can still be selected from the roll menu)
-Code optimizations regarding link tracking and other stuff.

M3 Venus Head v1.12.51:
-Fixed a bug with the tongue out + voice chat mouth animations causing the left eye to go blank.
-Removed downwards eye angles from eye movement.
-Code optimizations.

M3 Kemono Head v1.13.30:
-Optimized blinking, this hopefully fix any blinking bugs.
-Fixed broken voice chat animation.
-Removed downwards eye angles from eye movement.
-Code optimization.

Avatar 2.0 v1.12.27:
-Fixed a bug with custom textures not applying to eyelashes.
-Fixed the no copy issue with the main box.
-Added the missing voice chat animation gestures.
-Code optimizations.

The downwards angles explained

In reality, when the human eye is looking down, the eyelid moves down too, covering the white part above the iris. On SL however, this doesn’t happen, leaving your avatar with this really uncanny “I’ve seen some shit” look on your avatar’s face. So we removed the ability for the eye to look down during eye movement. But all the downwards angles can still be set through the eye roll menu in the options so no changes there.


– Rikugou customization contest 2! –

As the work on the armors is closing a finish, it’s probably a good idea to give you guys a heads up, theres gonna be another Rikugou customization contest at launch of the 2 new armors, so you guys would have plenty of time to prepare for it. So get your Phtochop or MS Paint ready cuz you might be the lucky winner of one (or both) of the new armors !

– Updates –

Okay so heres a bunch of updates for stuff:

– Kemono v1.13.25 –

Separated the eyes from the head and added easy face selection tabs to them like in the other M3 heads, now your eyes whites wont get tinted when tinting the skin color.
3 mouth expressions got additional faces for the teeth to solve the same tinting problem as mentioned above with eye whites (your teeth wont get tinted anymore either)
Fixed the brown tail texture not lining up in the middle.
Fixed a long standing issue with the LOD on the head HUD that made the HUD all broken for people with ghetto PCs.
Added diagonal eye rolls to the eye roll menu.
Fixed a Bug with the communication between the head HUD and the presets HUD.

Implemented community fixes:
Kemono deformer repeater by Riana – This fixes the problem of random people seeing your shape all broken on their screen.
Prim params refresh hack my Riana – This is a workaround for the the bug of prim params getting out of sync with the client. This fixes the random double eyelash problem after blinking.

 

– Other stuff –

Fixed a colossal screw up on my part with the O.CA arms and legs, wrong material sets were assigned to wrong textures, the BRS special texture had fuck knows what even assigned to it and looked ugly as shit.
Fixed a broken LOD on the left unrigged boot from the O.CA arms and legs bonus item box.
Fixed the low cut panties from the short skirt pack, flickering on the new version of Avatar 2.0 body
Fixed a bug with the bikini strings on the net half top small and flat.
The free Avatar 2.0 nipples now work with the latest version of the Avatar 2.0 HUD.

Thats all, if theres any problems with the updates, dont hesitate to report them to me, in case i packed the wrong updates or broke something else.

– Av2 hand fix –

whoever had problems with hands in avatar 2.0 versions 1.12.20 and 1.12.22, rez your update cards and try the fix and see if it works for you.

– Av2 face expressions and some other stuff –

Rez your update cards cuz the update is done.

This was a huge pain in the ass, had to redo some of the expressions multiple times, some still look a bit wonky with the default Avatar 2.0 skin but oh well, whatever.

I had to scrap some of the mouths due to how terrible they looked, so theres only 6 mouths for now.

Also, i forgot to pack in the new skin textures with the vendors so get them here https://www.mediafire.com/?04j97371omc87i5 if you are planing on making any skin mods. The textures themselves didnt change much, mostly just additional stuff got added to it for the mouth.

huds

The M3 eye customization HUD is a separate thing, in case you will want to use the eyes with something else. The eyes themselves accept non transparent M3 eye textures (M3, Venus, Kemono) Good thing that literally no one ever made full use of the eye transparency feature in their mods, so these eyes will be compatible with 99% of all the eye mods(unless they are saved wrong and have an alpha channel).

– WIP – Avatar 2.0 face expressions –

Okay so, finally have something to show, this is what i have been working on lately, the Avatar 2.0 face expressions, mouth animation, blink and all that stuff.

This is such a terrible mesh to work with, the polygon count is really low so i had to increase it in certain places for the expressions not to look choppy, and still some expressions just dont look good. I also still need to work some more around the eyes to be able to close them without stretching the textures. The biggest limitation is keeping it compatible with all the skin mods for this avatar, i havent yet figured out what to do with the eyes and some of the mouth expressions.

Anyway, this head is going to use the M3 system but a light version of it, since the head uses linden eyes, it will also lack some other stuff that only really work on an anime style head. There will also be optional rigged mesh eyes that you can attach and load M3 eye textures onto, you will be able to use the eyes with your LL avatar head or any other head that supports LL avatar eyes.

The price of the avatar 2.0 will increase by 100L after this update is live so anyone who hasnt got yours yet, better do it now, although there is no hurry really because this update will take forever to do.

– More updates –

Rez/wear your update cards, if nothing happens, go to some other sim or AMH.

Added the ability to test the appliers without the need ot transferring them to an alt.

A note on the clothing attachment system:

The changes to the system makes it hides parts faster and doesnt glitch and leave unhidden parts when the sim lags. If you are a third party clothing creator for Avatar 2.0 or Kemono, you dont have to worry because your clothes will still work with the new system, but you should still look into it and update your clothing items to take advantage of the new changes.

Btw, im not sure how thoroughly the Kemono and the M3 heads were tested so if you encounter any bugs, dont hesitate to IM me.

– Oni Combat armor chest and other stuff –

And the chest armor is done, you will need to update your Rikugous and Kemonos for this to work. You should also update your O.CA arms and legs because i have fixed a few texture loading bugs as well as fixed the specularity settings that shaded the armor all weird around local lights. It should all look good now….. i think.

I also made a scarf to go along with the armor, it can also be used separately.

Apart from the Kemono and Rikugou compatibility updates for the armor, theres also a bunch of other bug fixes that you might want to check out.

Fixed neck and triangulation. (mainly for O.CA chest compatibility)
Fixed a rigging bug with the Kemono hands and gloves.
Fixed a LOD issue with the hips.
Fixed a LOD issue with the right furry leg.
Fixed an issue with voice chat mouth animation.
Added a missing “ADD” graphical element to the body HUD right side options menu.
Switched places basic and advanced mode buttons on the body HUD to be more intuitive.
Script optimizations.

-M3 v1.12.10:
Fixed an issue with voice chat mouth animation option breaking the head.
Fixed a problem with the reset button not working when the options menu is close don the HUD.
Included the retro loader into the main package instead of the bonus item box because GOD DAMN IT YOU PEOPLE.

-O.CA arms and legs v2:
Fixed a rigging issue on the fingers of the Kemono version.
Fixed a rigging issue on the arms of the Rikugou lite version.
Fixed an issue with the wrong “red skull” textures being loaded on the arms of Avatar 2.0 and Rikugou lite versions.
Fixed an issue with speculars, shading the whole armor weird around local lights.
Added a Resync option to the menu of the Rikugou armor parts, this is for when one of the body parts reset and clip through the armor after reloging or adding the part second instead of first.

-Rikugou Lite v1.4:
O.CA chest armor compatibility update.

 

Thats all, the next big update is the Rikugou avatar and accessory series, its a real mess so this will take some time to fix.

“Help! my update card’s not working D:”

I dont know whats going on but i suspect LL screwed something up, looks like the update cards have trouble communicating with the update server from other sims for a lot of people. If you are one of them, try changing sims or coming to AMH where the update server is located(Update cards only working on AMH used to be an urban legend but looks like it became true because of this xD).

Also due to the way specular maps react to local lights on SL, it kinda looks like shit, so to fix it, right click the armor and set the specularity to 50 manually (if your viewer can handle having the advanced lighting model turned on that is)

And finally, i decided to make a chest and a survival back pack, to go along with the arm and leg armor parts. Heres some work in progress images.

 

 

– The Oni Combat Armor and some updates –

The Oni Combat Armor – arms, legs and a tacticool belt.

Compatible with Avatar 2.0, Kemono and Rikugou Lite avatars. You will need to update your Kemono And Rikugou avatars for this to work, i have also included a manual fix that you can apply to your Kemono instead of Updating it to save time. This started out as something else entirely but has deviated to what it is now, after series of walls i ran into with trying to mesh out the design. Non the less, i really like how it turned out and im thinking of making a chest piece and maybe a head piece later too.

Btw, funny thing, Marketplace filtered the word Oni and set the product to mature automatically for whatever retarded linden reason, had to change Oni to Onı using unicode to bypass the the retarded filter.

Fixed a glitch with the bonus hair base that made it clip with the new version of Avatar 2.0

Fixed a bug with the visually effect of the voice chat animation checkbox being pressed (if you closed the options menu and opened it again, the checkbox got reset visually)Fixed a bug that made both the voice chat and typing animation checkboxes activate both functions regardless of what checkbox was marked.
Fixed a bug with the head applying custom eyebrow textures on one of the elf ears.

Kemono(This is not the upcoming big update)
Fixed a bug with the Kemono deformer, offsetting the lower leg bones, making the legs look all curved backwards and breaking the ankles, you need this update mainly for compatibility with the O.CA armor legs and some products that asami is going to make.

Rikugou Lite(This is not the upcoming big update)
Changes to arms and legs for compatibility with the O.CA arms and legs.
