– Avatar 2.0 v1.14 is out! –

This is the long overdue fitted mesh update as well as bento face and hand rigging. You can now adjust the shape of your ass, belly, legs and feet, to make your shape more juicy. You can also adjust some of the face sliders but not all of them work (not all bento features are supported due to the way the game treats custom joint positions)

– Whats else is New in 1.14 –

In general this was a huge update, avatar 2.0 now partially supports fitted mesh (the whole lower body bellow the waist) as well as bento rigging for the face and hands.
Huge improvements to render weight from 32K to just 4.8K (the render weight randomly fluctuates between higher and lower numbers because the whole render weight system is garbage) as well as script optimizations.
There are now 2 versions of the body, A and B. Version A is the normal version witch is 4.8k render weight, and the experimental version B with 2k render weight witch will not work for people running the game on ghetto graphics settings.
A bunch of new features implemented such as normal/specular map support, head customization options and other neat things.

Rez or wear your Avatar 2.0 update cards to get it.

All the existing clothing have been updated to work with this new version, rez your update cards.

                 

The old versions of following items did not come with all the textures, scripting and update cards, there for they are not eligible for a free update.

    

Next stop on the to do list is updating the avatar 2.0 appliers to make use of the new texture layers and specular/normal maps, as well as new dummies for content creators.

– WIP kemono bento implementation –

So yeah bento is now part of the official firestorm release and the bento development tools are nearing completion so i started poking at it myself and heres what i got so far.

My goal is to make full use of the bento bones for avatar 2.0 and kemono to drastically cut down on the rendering weight, first im going to make use of the finger and tail bones so that we wouldnt need to use 89475984 invisible tails and hands, one will be enough! and than will see what i can do with the avatar 2.0 face. I might also re release bento versions of the M3 heads since those have a 9384658347598 polygons too that also eat up a lot of the render complexity thing but im not sure how well those rigged heads will align with different avatars since you wont be able to move them around anymore.

 

– Rikugou customization contest 2 –

Okay so i kept putting this aside since we don’t fully agree with how to organize the contest yet but as the scripting of the gundam armor closing to an end, i cannot delay this announcement any longer, so here goes!

Rules:

Your avatar has to be built around the Rikugou body, either the normal or Rikugou lite.
-exception for robots made entirely of Rikugou parts (more details bellow)
Your avatar has to be 50% or more Rikugou.
-Meaning, Items specifically designed for Rikugou
-O.CA armor counts too.
-Third party stuff made for Rikugou such as Akisa’s Rikugou armors count too.

Tips:

Following these tips will give you more chances of winning.
-Consistency of style, try to pick parts that match each other visually, both in quality and design, bonus points for your avatar matching Rikugou style, unless you really know what you are doing.

How to apply:

Same as last year, send me a notecard containing your name, category you are applying to and links to pictures or videos of your thing.

The deadline is not set yet but since the new COD is coming out at November 4, and you probably know what that means, so you got about 3 weeks to do this. Te date of the contest and the deadline for submissions will be announced later once we are all on the same page about this.

There are 2 categories, male and female(working titles)
The female category is Rikugou avatars using the Rikugou body and 50% or more Rikugou stuff, like the example bellow.

The male category is robot avatars made almost entirely out of Rikugou parts, such as example bellow.

How the winners are picked:

This time around, the review and evaluation of each submission will be done by a panel of judges and me. Each judge will add 0 to 1 points to each submission, i will add 0 to 2 points(cuz my dick is bigger)

This is the part we cant agree on yet, the voting will be either done during the event or will be done offline and winners will be announce during the event and on this blog after the event is over, like last time.

Like last time, there will be 1 first place winner, 2 second place winners and 3 third place winners. There will also be one robot(male) category winner and 4 honorable mentions.
Honorable mentions are people who didn’t win but we still felt like they did a pretty good job on their avatars

Prizes:

First place winner gets both armors + hair +  custom Rikugou avatar?
Second place winners gets gundam + hair.
Third place winners gets predator.

Robot(male) category winner  gets the gundam armor.

4 honorable mentions get hair.

– WIP – gundam armor almost done –

Ladies and germans, work on the new rikugou armors is nearing completion and i finally have something to show.

OKAY so, the modeling on both armors is done, now all that’s left is texturing and animations, and i finally got something good to show too!

– WIP Rikugou armors –

I ran into some roadblocks with the design and was stuck on it for some time, there were a bunch of design elements that looked good on their own but didn’t match each others style, so i split them up into 3 different projects. Theres going to be 3 armors in total, the first one of them, the heavy (gundam armor) is almost done.

– Another kemono update –

Recent changes to the kemono head made it impossible to manualy change the color of the eyelashes, so we added a way to do it with this update.
To change the color of the eyelashes, copy and paste the LSL color code (example: <0.17300, 0.17300, 0.17300>) from the build menu’s color picker, into the object description field of the head. The color will update during a blink.

Oh and btw, the next project is going to be some rikugou armors cuz its about damn time.

– WIP – Avatar 2.0 face expressions –

Okay so, finally have something to show, this is what i have been working on lately, the Avatar 2.0 face expressions, mouth animation, blink and all that stuff.

This is such a terrible mesh to work with, the polygon count is really low so i had to increase it in certain places for the expressions not to look choppy, and still some expressions just dont look good. I also still need to work some more around the eyes to be able to close them without stretching the textures. The biggest limitation is keeping it compatible with all the skin mods for this avatar, i havent yet figured out what to do with the eyes and some of the mouth expressions.

Anyway, this head is going to use the M3 system but a light version of it, since the head uses linden eyes, it will also lack some other stuff that only really work on an anime style head. There will also be optional rigged mesh eyes that you can attach and load M3 eye textures onto, you will be able to use the eyes with your LL avatar head or any other head that supports LL avatar eyes.

The price of the avatar 2.0 will increase by 100L after this update is live so anyone who hasnt got yours yet, better do it now, although there is no hurry really because this update will take forever to do.
