Get your update cards out for these hot new updates for all the m3 heads and avatar2.0

M3 Anime head v1.12.21:
-Head was restructured for better blinking code optimization, this fix should end the double eyelash thing once and for all, i hope…
-Added diagonal eye rolls in the roll menu.(finally!)
-Removed downwards eye angles from eye movement to fix the “I’ve seen some shit” look on your avatar’s face. (downwards angles can still be selected from the roll menu)
-Code optimizations regarding link tracking and other stuff.

M3 Venus Head v1.12.51:
-Fixed a bug with the tongue out + voice chat mouth animations causing the left eye to go blank.
-Removed downwards eye angles from eye movement.
-Code optimizations.

M3 Kemono Head v1.13.30:
-Optimized blinking, this hopefully fix any blinking bugs.
-Fixed broken voice chat animation.
-Removed downwards eye angles from eye movement.
-Code optimization.

Avatar 2.0 v1.12.27:
-Fixed a bug with custom textures not applying to eyelashes.
-Fixed the no copy issue with the main box.
-Added the missing voice chat animation gestures.
-Code optimizations.

Theres also something updated with the kemono body itself, i think the link tracking thing but im not sure cuz i forgot D:

The downwards angles explained

In reality, when the human eye is looking down, the eyelid moves down too, covering the white part above the iris. On SL however, this doesn’t happen, leaving your avatar with this really uncanny “I’ve seen some shit” look on your avatar’s face. So we removed the ability for the eye to look down during eye movement. But all the downwards angles can still be set through the eye roll menu in the options so no changes there.

– Rikugou customization contest 2! –

As the work on the armors is closing a finish, it’s probably a good idea to give you guys a heads up, theres gonna be another Rikugou customization contest at launch of the 2 new armors, so you guys would have plenty of time to prepare for it. So get your Phtochop or MS Paint ready cuz you might be the lucky winner of one (or both) of the new armors !

More details about the contest will come soon.

– A nice start –

This is so great, when i was doing the skins for the new Venus head, i wondered if people will mod of this head like they did with the normal M3 and can this head be turned into something great. And as soon as it got released, modders pounced on it, there were day 1 mods created within 2 hours of its release.

mods

Nothing makes me more happy than to see peoples creativity and what they can turn my products into, i love the modding community and all the amazing things they do on sl.

– M3 Venus Anime Head –

The long awaited M3 Venus(Mature) Anime Head is here!

Things to note:

The regular M3 appliers will work with this but if the skin texture isnt created for this head specifically, it will be misaligned, eyes will work just fine tho.
Eyebrows and eyelashes made for the regular M3 or the Kemono M3 will be misaligned too so make sure the mods you are getting are made for this head specifically.

– stuff –

Due to the overwhelming success of the kawaii head drill, lots of positive feedback and demand for more, from now on, im going to focus all my efforts on making more contraptions in this style, you wanted it, you got it!

oh and heres some progress on the new anime head.

– M3 1.12.8 update –

The big M3 update is out, rez your update cards

HUD:
Changes to appliers and texture load system, appliers will now bypass the HUD and load textures directly(a retro loader has been included to load old M3 applier textures onto the new head), the custom button above the preview now clears added custom textures.
Changes to the presets window, the presets window is now a separate HUD that saves/loads face expressions.
Added a hide option to the HUD.
Replaced one eye texture with a new one.
Added extra eye customization options and a v1 viewer compatibility mode.
Bug fixes and general optimization to the HUD, the HUD can now be attached anywhere you want without breaking it, the HUD should now display correctly on low end machines with low graphics settings.

head:
The whites of the eyes and insides of the mouth were separated to not be effected by skin color tinting.
Fixed a long standing and overlooked issue with the face light losing its original settings and resetting to default default LL light settings.
Bug fixes and general optimization to the head, the head has been restructured and now uses less polygons to do the same thing, the ugly seam on top of the head has been eliminated thanks to this.

Misc:
Optimizations to the scripts to consume less resources.
Improved the LL head alpha to hide the entire head and not just the face, for people having problems with rigged mesh hair and LL avatar body (why are you still using the LL body anyway?)
External script command support has been added.

New features:
Ability to control each eye lid separately (closing one eye and stuff like that)
Different color tones for each eye texture.
Backwards compatibility with shitty old viewers like singularity.
Menu repositioning based on HUD attachment point.
Ability to hide the HUD.
New and improved applier system that applies the textures directly to the head.
External face expression control script commands.

The M3 texture applier has been updated too.

Next big update is going to be the kemono.

– so does anyone actualy use this feature? –

Okay so, back when the M3 head was still in the planing stage, the preset creation window seamed like a good idea, while i still like the idea in theory, it doesnt really work in practice, due to how the whole SL character and outfits thing works. Or well, at least the way im playing SL myself, i never actually got to use the damn thing. When im creating a new character/outfit thing, i normally just make copies of the head so that i wouldnt have to spend hours fiddling around with it every time i change my char, and while the presets window makes things more streamlined, its still a bunch of extra mouse clicks that im too lazy to do, i want my avatar to look right instantly without me having to additionally click some stuff.

So anyway, i was wondering if anyone else thinks that the presets window is just a stupid waste of script memory. this is related to some upcoming changes to the M3 system, im planing to replace the SET button with a hide/show HUD button

BTW, if you voted yes, it would be helpful if you explained your reasoning in the comments.

Also, The new avatar im working on, im at the part where i rig it, im gonna show some more stuff soon.

– New stuff and updates –

Heres some new stuff to ease the wait for other new stuff, the Girl toys play set Volume 01 for Avatar 2.0.

And heres some Kawaii~ gold and diamond grills for the M3 anime head.

We have also made a bunch of bug fixes.

Fixed – M3 head bug that broke voice and text chat mouth animation when the emotes checkbox was enabled

Fixed – A bug with the left arrow attack in the Anubis double sword that killed the user

Improvement – The damage prim rez distance on the Anubis double sword was increased to 0.500 (was 0.00) to remove any potential accidental suicide while using the sword.

Fixed – The no texture found error in the Avatar 2.0 nipple addon. (gotta come down to the shop to pick up a new free copy)

How to update:

Rez the included update card on the ground and WAIT!, if nothing happens in 10 minutes or you only get a notecard and no update, take the card back and dont do anything, give it some time, the update server is a piece of shit and it ate your update but it thinks it has updated you, so it wont respond to repeated update requests for some time, if you spam it with requests it will block you for 24 hours.

– Rikugou Customization Contest –

The contest is coming to an end and i have done some preliminary judging and picked out 11 contenders that have done a competent enough job and i will further compare them side by side to determine the winners and stuff.(Hiyori you are included but im still waiting on your final thing)

But heres the thing, theres only 3 places but theres more than 3 mods that i feel deserve something for their efforts and it would pain me a lot to not reward them. So here’s how this is going to go down, 3 people will win the third place, 2 people will win the second place, and one person will win the first place.

– Final CCD update and more third party stuff –

Kay so, i have updated the CCD and this will be the final update, since i found a way to overcome the 8 mesh face limit on the Avatar 2.0, you no longer need a special list of clothing that works with it, since most stuff will now work. Just be sure to try the demos first, i will also optimize the new hide areas a bit more later on, so CCD submissions are now closed.

And now, some more stuff by third party content creators.

I will begin with my personal favorite.

– More third party stuff and some other things –

Okay so you all might be wondering wtf am i doing all this time and where are your rikugou temjin and flat 2.0 and all that other good stuff. Well probably not too soon, there’s some RL stuff that’s eating away all my attention and my computer broke so decided to upgrade it a bit, so im waiting for the new parts to arrive before i can resume any work(it was supposed to get everything today but fuckers gave me the wrong motherboard so now i have to wait another week till they get the right one). Once i have my new computer, i will continue working on the new armor for rikugou.

That being said, i also have some responsibilities that i kept ignoring for long enough, like giving a shout outs to third party developers and updating the CCD. So here goes.

Gonna add more stuff later, now i have to review and post a ton of CCD submissions that have piled up over the months.

– M3 Texture Applier –

And here it is, finally got around packing it and releasing it.

This is the M3 anime head texture applier for M3 texture mod developers. This will allow you to sell your texture mods without having to give out your textures or UIIDs full perm, it will also save a lot of trouble for people that will use those mods. (this will not work with the M3 Prototype head that comes with Rikugou.)

And here’s the very first mod that uses the M3 texture applier by Anahi Suisei (.::U & A::.)

Also, i keep forgetting to mention this, but there’s a test update for the M3 head if anyone’s interested, if it works than it should load the eye base layer faster (a fix for the temporary-solid eye thing)
